☐ The Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana exempts visa requirements for nationals of specific countries or territories. All visitors must hold a passport valid for 6 months.

• ☐ Money: The local currency is the Guyanese dollar, denoted $ or G$ (ISO international currency code: GYD). The currency is freely convertible but nearly impossible to get rid of outside of Guyana, the neighbouring countries and one exchange bureau in London Gatwick airport.

Laws that could get a tourist arrested

• ☐ Sodomy laws — Sodomy is punishable by a maximum sentence of life in prison. Police have used this law to intimidate suspected same-sex male partners.
• ☐ Cross-dressing laws — Cross-dressing is criminalized in Guyana, with instances of individuals being fined by the courts for the practice.
